1.Sigiriya(Lion Rock)

Sigiriya, also known as Lion Rock, is an ancient rock fortress located in the Matale district near the city of Dambulla. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Sri Lanka’s most iconic sites. 2. Kandy and the Dental Temple

Ravana Falls located nearby is another must-see, which is believed to be linked to the legend of Ramayana, where Ravana hid Sita.

5. Divurumpola (Near Nuwara Eliya)

Divurumpola is a sacred site located near Nuwara Eliya in the central highlands of Sri Lanka. It is deeply rooted in the Hindu epic, the Ramayana, and holds great significance for devotees and tourists alike. The name “Divurumpola” translates to “Place of Oath,” and it is believed to be the location where Sita underwent the Agni Pariksha (fire test) to prove her chastity and purity after being rescued from Ravana. Before returning to Ayodhya, Sita had to prove her purity. To prove her innocence, Sita willingly underwent the Agni Pariksha, in which she passed through the fire and came out without any injury. The incident is said to have taken place in Divurumpola.
