This woman, dressed in a white sari, is claimed to have been hitchhiking here for decades. She would wave at passing cars, pleading for a lift.
Those who consented to give her a ride were never seen again. If the driver did not stop, she would begin jogging alongside or behind the vehicle at the same speed till the end of the Delhi Cantt region. People who stopped and asked her for directions are claimed to have wandered around the city all night, hopelessly lost, before finding their way home.
There are several speculations about who this woman was during her life. Some believe she was one of the countless unfortunate females who succumbed to a diseased mind’s lust in what is known as India’s Rape Capital.
It is thought that on the last night of her life, she requested a ride farther in the city. Guys she hoped on raped her in a moving car and then dumped her body in Delhi Cantt. She’s been caught in a death loop ever since, yearning for a lift and reliving her death every night. Some believe she is a vengeful spirit seeking retribution on men, specifically any guy who gave her a lift.
Another theory depicts her as an evil woman. It is reported that she discovered her husband cheating on her and, in a fit of rage, murdered her two children before committing herself, but the guilt and shame of her actions prevented her ghost from entering her own home. Now she is stranded here as a lost spirit attempting to find her way home where she had slain her own children, and because she is a lost soul herself, everyone who asks her for directions ends up getting lost for the entire night, circling around in circles.However, they are not ghosts. They are sex workers plagued by their own poverty, attempting to make ends meet.
These women wear white sarees and stand on the street, soliciting commuters for money and sex. It is awful to watch the women in such terrible conditions.
