Aharbal, a beautiful but lesser-known hill station in the Kashmir Valley, recently had tremendous snowfall, resulting in a large influx of tourists. The hill station, known for its stunning cascade, is commonly referred to as Kashmir’s Niagara Falls.
According to an official, Aharbal, located around 27 kilometers from Kulgam town in south Kashmir, is attracting both locals and travelers from far and wide following the recent snowfall. He added that the tourist destination saw a spectacular boost in visitors last year, with a record-breaking 310,000 people, a threefold increase over prior years.

The Kulgam district government is gearing up for a major winter carnival in the coming days. “This festival will include a variety of activities aimed at attracting more tourists to Aharbal,” the official added.

Ghalib Mohiuddin Shah, Chief Executive Officer of the Aharbal Development Authority (ADA), saw an increase in visitor activity in Aharbal following the recent snowfall. “The snow-covered Aharbal has witnessed a surge in tourists, which is expected to boost the local business sector,” he went on to say.
