Char Dham Yatra is a journey to four sacred places. It has significance in Hinduism. The pilgrimage to four venerated temples located in the magnificent Himalayas of Uttarakhand, India, is known as the Four Dham. The temples include Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath. Each temple honors distinct deities and spiritual energy. Badrinath is a Vishnu temple. Kedarnath is a Shiva temple. Gangotri is a shrine dedicated to Ganga. Yamunotri is a shrine dedicated to Yamuna. The four Dham sacred places are located in Uttarakhand. It is also known as Devbhoomi, the Land of Gods. The temple committee announced the official start date of the Char Dham Yatra 2024 on January 26, 2024, in honor of Basant Panchami. Here’s the opening and closing dates of Kedarnath, Gangotri, Yamuna , Badrinath :

Badrinath Opening and Closing date: 12 May – November

Gangotri Temple Opening and Closing date: 10 May –  November

Yamuna Temple Opening and Closing date: 10 May –  November

Kedarnath : Kedarnath Temple is one of the twelve Shiva jyotirlinga, or symbols of Lord Shiva. The conical Shiva lingam is revered as the Lord in his Sadashiva avatar. This is one of the twelve Shiva jyotirlinga, or symbols of Lord Shiva. It is the tallest of the 12 Jyotirlingas and one of the 275 Padal patra sthalams described in the Tevaram.

Badrinath Temple: Badrinath Temple is a well-known Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu located in the town of Badrinath, Uttarakhand, India. It is one of the four holy pilgrimage destinations on the Char Dham Yatra and Chota Char Dham Yatra.

Gangotri Temple: Gangotri Temple is a prominent Hindu shrine in the town of Gangotri, Uttarkashi District, Uttarakhand. The temple, located at an elevation of 3,100 meters on the Himalayan range, is one of the four sacred and important pilgrimage sites in the Chota Char Dham Yatra of Uttarakhand.

Yamuna Temple: Yamunotri Temple is a celebrated Hindu temple dedicated to Goddess Yamuna in Uttarkashi, Uttarakhand, India. It is located in the western Garhwal Himalayas at an elevation of around 3,291 meters. It is one of the four sacred pilgrimage destinations in Uttarakhand’s Chota Char Dham Yatra and the source of the Holy River Yamuna.
