Chitrakoot Waterfalls in Jagdalpur (2023) Hours and Entry

Chitrakoot Waterfalls, which cascade madly from a height of roughly 98 feet, lends a great deal of romance to the magnificent Vindhya Ranges. It rises from the River Indravati in the Chhattisgarh city of Jagdalpur and plunges in the shape of three streams in the summer and winter. However, during the monsoon season, this horseshoe-shaped waterfall assumes a powerful shape and resembles Niagara Falls in North America with its vast, white flow. Chitrakoot Falls is so frequently referred to be the Niagara Falls of India.

The widest waterfall in India is Chitrakoot, which is roughly 985 feet in width. The River Indravati’s water level, however, can affect the width of the falls. Here are some details on Chitrakoot Falls.

Visitor advice for Chitrakoot Falls

Summer is not the best time to view the falls. During this time of year, the area can get excessively hot and the water almost completely evaporates.

You must arrive at the waterfall early and leave no later than 4:30 PM if you intend to use a public bus. Plan your journey appropriately because the last bus departs for Jagdalpur at around 5 PM.

During the monsoon season, swimming can be risky because to the rapid downpour of massive amounts of water.

Wear comfortable clothes and shoes that have a strong grip as the steps can turn slick owing to flooding.

For those who enjoy nature and want to get out of the city, Chitrakoot Falls is a delight.
