3. Jaliawala bagh, Punjab
The bullet holes in the wall of this public garden in Amritsar, close to the Golden Temple, serve as a somber reminder of how, in 1919, unarmed Indian citizens celebrating the Punjabi New Year were killed by a British officer’s indiscriminate firing order because he believed the crowd was planning an insurrection. Many people like having picnics at the Dandi sea beach, which is situated on the Arabian Sea around 60 kilometers from Surat in Gujarat. However, it was in this location that the Civil Disobedience Movement began to take root and was essential to the Indians’ march toward independence. Mahatma Gandhi launched the Salt Satyagraha in 1930 to oppose the British salt restrictions, and it was there near the salt marshes of Dandi. Gandhi and his supporters started their march towards Dandi from the Sabarmati Ashram in Ahmedabad. The throng had grown to thousands by the time he arrived in Denmark. He protested in Dandi by pulling a fistful of salty mud and seawater together. After Gandhiji’s incarceration, a nationwide campaign of civil disobedience began, sparking a large-scale uprising against the British.

5.Moirang,Manipur
Known for being the home of the Lai Haraoba ritual dance and overseen by the tribal deity Thangjing, this small town in picturesque Manipur made history in April 1944 when the Indian National Army (INA), led by Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, took control of Moirang and proclaimed independence from British India. On April 14, 1944, at Moirang, Colonel Shaukat Malik of the INA raised the tricolor. Even though the INA’s occupancy was brief, it undoubtedly accelerated the British exodus from India. The INA Museum preserves the history of the Indian National Army (INA) and its occupation of Moirang through letters, photographs, badges, currency, and other memorabilia. It is situated near Loktak Lake, approximately 45km from Imphal, the state capital.
