The name “Divurumpola” translates to “Place of Oath,” and it is believed to be the location where Sita underwent the Agni Pariksha (fire test) to prove her chastity and purity after being rescued from Ravana. Before returning to Ayodhya, Sita had to prove her purity. To prove her innocence, Sita willingly underwent the Agni Pariksha, in which she passed through the fire and came out without any injury. The incident is said to have taken place in Divurumpola.
