It also signaled the beginning of the monsoon season. Around 3 p.m. today, the Mumbai skyline darkened as dusty winds swept across the city. While the rain provided reprieve from the searing heat, travelers experienced delays as traffic drew to a halt during the storm.

During the mayhem, a 100-foot-tall billboard toppled on a petrol pump in Ghatkopar, trapping vehicles. According to the most recent news, approximately three people have died, and another 100 are still missing.The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) is assisting with the evacuation of trapped individuals.

In contrast, operations at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport were abruptly halted due to bad weather conditions. Furthermore, services on the Harbour line were sometimes halted due to OHE variations induced by heavy rains and strong gusts. Several cases of tree collapses and waterlogging were reported in the Thane area.

Furthermore, Central Railway slow lines were suspended due to the collapse of an OHE mast in Mulund. Metro services between Aarey and Andheri East stations were also suspended after strong winds blew a banner into an overhead wire, according to a Metro Rail official.
